I’ve never been much of a fan of Denver’s convention center or most any city’s convention center really. Generally, these buildings are just incredibly large, out of scale with their surroundings and absolutely devoid of life at the street level. Except at the main entry points which are like gates to a rampart. The Colorado Convention Center is no different.
On Champa Street, at least the designers made an effort to do more than just hide what is a multi-story parking garage. At this time of year, when the early evening sun is low in the sky, these undulating metal panels almost glisten.
I like that.
