A couple of weekends ago I went to a concert at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater. This famous outdoor venue is located ten miles west of downtown Denver near Morrison, Colorado. Now, I have ridden past Red Rocks numerous times. I’ve admired the giant rock formations and marveled at the site’s natural wonder. I’ve stood in the upper level plaza, gazing east out above the stage toward Denver’s skyline. I’ve been there while concert staff were busy conducting soundchecks and preparing the venue for some techno-rock group scheduled to perform that evening. But, I had never been there for an actual concert. Now I have and I’m so glad I did. Red Rocks is awesome!
The event was the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes. What a concert! You only need to love music to appreciate Haynes vocals and guitar fronting a symphony orchestra playing Jerry Garcia’s music.
