the blog and me

I stopped searching for my passion when I realized I didn’t have just one, but three – architecture, really good bread, and bicycling. And since three is my favorite number, this all makes sense to me now. Each of these comes with its own community of characters, high places and culture and it is truly a great day for me whenever all three come together. Which does, in fact, happen from time to time. Peopled Places is part journal, travelogue, collection of lessons learned and design guide for what I’ve come to appreciate as a simple, healthy, active, engaged, curious and yes, fun, life.

Art and the creative impulse…is a feeling of love and enthusiasm for something, and in a direct, simple, passionate and true way, you try to show this beauty in things to others. – Brenda Ueland

My name is Christopher Smith and I started Peopled Places to share some of what I enjoy with others. I’m an architect, home baker and avid bicyclist. Typically, you’ll find me with my camera, walking or riding about. Just exploring. You just never know what’s around the next bend.

Welcome to Peopled Places.

  1. I am just starting my blog but have had an Instagram for over a year now – I have been combining my love for travel, photography, history and architecture and can’t wait to write more!! But bicycling – you can keep that for yourself 🙂
